Kit Cars line up at Pett Level

THROATY exhaust notes reverberated from the sea wall at Pett Level early on Sunday morning when around a dozen members of the Southern Kit Car Club and their vehicles pulled in for a break outside the New Beach Club.

The posse of Caterham/Westfield/Lotus 7 type sports cars was en route from Wrotham in Kent to Eastbourne, and formed a colourful throng as drivers paused to regather, check fluid levels and snatch a coffee on their journey west along the coast.

The Seven is based on a design by late Lotus boss Colin Chapman, characterised by light weight, pin-sharp handling and blistering performance.
