Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in Crawley.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to an elderly person’s home in Furzefield, West Green, at 3.17pm on Thursday (January 7).

The Crawley crew was dispatched after a Chichester Careline alarm alerted the service automatically.

A spokesman said firefighters in breathing gear used two hoses to put the small accidental fire.

No one was reported injured.
