Littlehampton engineer killed himself by eating poisonous yew berry seeds, inquest told

A 'BRILLIANT' design engineer from Littlehampton killed himself by taking a concoction of highly poisonous seeds from yew berries, an inquest was told on Monday.

Jonathan Hamilton (42) was found dead at his father's house in Bluebell Drive on August 12. It is believed he got the seeds '“ possibly 400 '“ from yew trees at Littlehampton Cemetery, Horsham Road, which is around 800 yards from his father's home.

The inquest at Worthing Town Hall was told the father-of-three lost control of Smart Implant, a breast augmentation company he had started in South Africa, after selling his shares. He tried to recover control but failed.

The businessman moved to Spain and then returned home to Littlehampton in October last year after separating from his wife.
