Littlehampton flats plan refused for being ‘too small’

PLANNERS have refused permission for a house at 68 Arundel Road, Littlehampton to be converted into five one-bedroom, self-contained flats.

Arun planning officers said the proposed size of the rooms and lack of private external space specific to each flat ‘would give rise to an unsatisfactory environment for the occupiers and an over-development of the site’.

A further reason for refusal was the potential problem from car parking, with no way of solving this within the site itself.

Littlehampton Town Council objected to the planning application on the grounds that it would be an over-development, would result in the loss of family housing and would create parking problems.
