Magistrates’ Court round-up

The following are court results from Hastings Magistrates’ Court July 29 and 30.

July 29:

Vilis Fedorenko (aged 47), of Carisbrooke Road, St Leonards, was banned from driving for four years and fined £260 after pleading guilty to failing to provide a specimen after being stopped, by police, in his Vauxhall car at Hastings on June 28. Magistrates also imposed a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

Brett Smith (aged 43), of New Addington, South London, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Camber on June 20. Magistrates imposed a community order with 50 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £50 compensation to the victim.

Shane Batkin (aged 32) of Western Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to stealing meat and cheese values at £15.25 from Co-Op in Battle Road, St Leonards, on May 7. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £15.25 compensation to Co-Op.

Anthony Hubbard (aged 71), of Sutherland Avenue, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified. The offence took place at Bexhill Road, St Leonards on July 14. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for two years. Magistrates also imposed a community order with 50 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 18 months.

July 30:

Kadelia Dowarris (aged 24), of Marine Court, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to theft from Morrisons supermarket at Hastings, to the value of £26.11. She also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Colin Haworth (aged 58) of Pett Level Road, Fairlight, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Pevensey Bay on July 11. Magistrates sentenced him to a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement. They also imposed a restraining order.

Nico Kayani (aged 21), of Silchester Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Hastings on July 15. He also pleaded guilty to damaging a display shelf and fittings, valued at £250, at the BP service station, Bohemia Road, on the same day. He was fined £37 for each offence and was also ordered to pay a total of £150 compensation.

Scott Laing (aged 21), of Corby, Northamptonshire, pleaded guilty to damaging a caravan at Camber Leisure Centre on July 16. He was fined £253.
