Man stole food

A Bognor Regis man has been given a two-year conditional discharge after pleading guilty to stealing a basket of food from a shop.

Liam Christopher Bassett, 23, of Greenlea Avenue filled up a basket of shopping at a Co-op in Bognor and walked out without paying.

He was apprehended outside and the goods of an unknown value were returned when the incident happened at 6.30pm on May 11 this year.

He was sentenced to a two-year conditional discharge at Chichester Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to theft.
