Man to appear in court over Brighton station incident

A man has been charged in connection with an incident at Brighton station yesterday morning (August 23), where staff were reportedly threatened, police said.

British Transport Police said: “Mark Dagger, aged 33, of London Road, East Grinstead, has been charged with one count of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence.

“He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on September 7.

“The charge is in connection with an incident at Brighton station yesterday morning.”

Sussex Police said: “At 6.25am on Wednesday, Sussex Police officers attended Brighton railway station in Queens Road where a man was reported to be acting in a threatening manner towards staff. A man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and handed over to British Transport Police.”
