Marley helps to bring Mardi Gras to a Bognor Regis park

Marley, 21, is appearing at the Mardi Gras celebration being staged by Rox in the Park in Hotham Park on Paril 16.The event aims to bring together the diverse cultures around the town through a celebration of music and arts from 11am-5pm.

Portsmouth resident Marley has toured the UK, made his TV debut on BBC One Saturday night primetime last January, and supported fellow musicians such as Christina Perri, Lawson and DJ Trevor Nelson.

Other acts will include Motown outfit Strumpet Town and Batala Portsmouth to lead a procession. Dance groups Stagecoach, Suzanne Hall and Dream Dance Live Yours will also perform,

A Rox in the Park spokesman said: “Mardi Gras promises to be a fun and colourful, family friendly event. On the day, a number of local caterers, traders, music acts and dance groups will be coming together to create an unforgettable Mardi Gras experience.

“Parades involving the musicians, performers and dances shall also be held and will take place through the park to create an authentic carnival vibe.”

A children’s area will host activities like mask making and balloon modelling.
