Memories sought of Steyning line

PEOPLE travelled from as far afield as Lincoln and Exmouth for this year's Steyning Railway Evening.

Held in the Drama Hall at Steyning Grammar School and run under the auspices of the Steyning Adult and Community Learning Centre, it attracted an estimated 150 people.

Philip Gardner and George Cockman want to collect more people's memories of the line. Plenty of written records have been handed in already but some of the anecdotes that have emerged during the evenings have never been written down.

They are now appealing for people to get them on paper and send them in. It is hoped they will be published for next year's event.

Anyone with reminiscences can write to Mr Cockman c/o Steyning Adult And Community Learning Centre, Steyning Grammar School, BN44 3RX
