Men scam Selsey pensioner out of hundreds of pounds

Police have launched an appeal after two men scammed a Selsey pensioner out of hundreds of pounds.

Police said on Tuesday, July 14, two males attended an address along Manor Road in Selsey and informed an elderly victim he needed work done to his roof.

The men stayed at the address for two and a half hours and charged the victim £600.

Police said the victim only had £300 on him so the men requested the victim went to a cash point to withdraw the other £300, which he did.

The suspects are described as white males. One male was white, aged between 20-30, of stocky build, with dark curly hair, and wearing a dark blue top and dark blue trousers.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white Ford Transit van, with two ladders on the top, no index and red/yellow chevrons on the rear as pictured below.
