Met Office team to provide live weather updates to reduce Gatwick disruption

The Met Office will provide live weather updates at Gatwick Airport in a new five-year contract.

It is hoped the information provided by its on-site team of metereologists will reduce weather disruption to flights.

Michael Goacher, Airside Operations Lead at Gatwick, said: “The information they provide will feed into our daily plans and give us advance warning of any potential weather based disruption, giving us the opportunity to mitigate the impacts to our passengers’ journeys.”
