More tea, vicar? Plenty to go around...

A PROPER vicarage tea party was held in All Saints Church hall which raised £280 at the weekend.

This was an event dear to the heart of the Rev Trevor Buxton as it featured authentic clotted cream from Cornwall to go with the scones and jam given locally.

Father Trevor said: “It went very well and we are very grateful for all the support.

“The clotted cream I had delivered from Cornwall. I lived in Devon and Cornwall for six years, and it did make it a bit different to actually have Cornish clotted cream for our tea, and we had white table cloths and things - we made an occasion of it.”

He thanked Stuart Earl for donating scones for the event.

Helen Bridger, who provided jam, was at the tea party with family including granddaughter Christie and her four-month-old baby girl Jennifer.

Helen commented: “It was a lovely event - primarily a fundraising event but we always try to put fun into our fundraising. We had a mad hatters competition, cakes for sale and the cream tea - all of that was donated by various people which was great.”
