Motorbike rider suffers broken leg in Crawley crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike and a white Ford Astra collided in Balcombe Road, Crawley.

The crash happened at the pedestrian crossing just north of the roundabout with Copthorne Road shortly after 9am on Friday (June 6), poice revealed today (Thursday June 12).

A 46-year-old Crawley man, who was on the motorbike, was taken to St Georges Hospital in London suffering from a broken leg.

A woman,30, from Crawley, who was driving the Astra, was not hurt.

Sergeant Mark Baker said: “We still need to find people who were in the area and saw the crash happen.

“We are particularly keen to trace the driver of a dark Toyota who was directly behind the vehicles when they collided. That driver could have vital information about what happened.”
