Mountfield

SHORT AND SWEET: Due to what are generally called “unforeseen circumstances”, this week’s Village Voice is a short one. Normal service will be resumed next week when we will finally wrap up the saga of BT, report on both the Strawberry Tea and the Flower Show (see below), as well as last week’s Parish Council Meeting. First, we have a new date for your diaries.

VILLAGE HALL OPEN DAY: On Saturday September 19th, from midday to 4.00 pm, there will be a Mountfield Village Hall Open Day. This will be a follow up to last year’s very “Bit of a Do” which was so successful and such fun. The final detail are still to be added but there will be all the usual fun and games, a full barbecue, Club bar Open to non-members, tea and home-made cakes — and a chance to join THE NEW FILM CLUB! Watch this space for more details.

REMINDERS: Tomorrow afternoon, Saturday 25th, is the busy day with Mandy’s grand Strawberry Tea in aid of Breast Cancer Care at 2, Yew Tree Cottages — strawberry tea, raffle (including, we happen to know, a bottle of fine champagne) and a good cause. And on the same day, two doors away, will be Mountfield Horticultural Society’s Flower Show. Doors will open at 2.30 with the prize-giving due to start at around 4.15. CONTACT: As ever, if you have anything for the Village Voice, we can be contacted on 880614 or via [email protected].
