New drop off points for Worthing Herald Christmas appeal

MORE firms and organisations are coming forward to help in offering drop-off points for our annual Christmas appeal.

The appeal is again for non-perishable food, which will be distributed to needy people in the area in conjunction with the Salvation Army, and for animal food, which will go to Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service (WADARS).

We've now got the first car-load of food for delivery to the Salvation Army and WADARS has received the first box full of animal food.

If we have sufficient animal food donated we will make a donation to PAWS, the local charity which cares for dogs in the area.

Please bring any donations to our offices in Chatsworth Road, Worthing (Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm).

Drop points

You can also take donations to Living Colour hairdressers in King's Parade, Findon Valley, Worthing, to the Salvation Army charity shops in Rowlands Road, Worthing, or South Street, Lancing, and Graham Butt estate agents in Sea Road, East Preston, and Woodlands Avenue, Rustington.

In addition, you can take donations to Willow Green Surgery, Station Road, in East Preston, Burnand Brazier Tisdall solicitors, 72-76 Broadwater Street West, Worthing, and at 4-5 Aldsworth Parade, Goring.

We're also delighted to hear that Autotec car care centre in Wordsworth Road, Worthing, is supporting our appeal.

Donation until Monday

Until Monday, December 21, the centre will donate one item of groceries for every customer who visits their premises.

Whether you spend 1 or 1,000 with the company, the Worthing Herald Christmas food appeal will benefit, and so will needy people throughout the area.

"We're regular advertisers in the Worthing Herald and we are always keen to support local community projects," explained Peter Tavender, proprietor of Autotec.
