easyJet has announced a new route from Gatwick to La Palma - the most north westerly Canary Island.
The new winter service, which is expected to carry 14,000 customers in the first winter of operation, starts on November 1.
Neil Slaven, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, said: “Gatwick is our largest base and we are pleased to continue to strengthen our network there with the addition of this new service to La Palma.
“We are excited to add this island to our network and we are sure that its mixture of impressive landscapes and historic old town will make it a popular service for our customers from London Gatwick.”
Guy Stephenson, Gatwick’s chief commercial officer, said: “We welcome the addition of this new route to easyJet’s service from Gatwick, as together we are committed to increasing the choice of destinations for our passengers. easyJet is Gatwick’s biggest airline operator and we look forward to continuing our support of its growing network here.”
