New venue for wedding couple

It would be any couple's nightmare to have their wedding venue cancelled with just 11 weeks to go.

That's what happened to Caz Rainger and Martin Coomber who then gave their reaction to the Bexhill Observer and told how their dreams had been ruined for the reception at St John's Ambulance campsite in Ninfield Road - with 200 invited guests expected to stay.

Now it's a different story...just a couple of days after their front page story the couple were making plans again thanks to immediate response from readers.

"We had quite a few calls which is good," said Caz of Lucy Way.

"But the one we have gone for is Country Blessings out at Hooe. We had a call from Taz Cornwell who said she had a 22 acre site which we can have the use of. She is planning on doing handfasting, blessings and unions, but not until next year, so if we wanted to use her site we were welcome.

"It is a lovely place - we went there on Sunday, and there is seven acres of woods and lake, and field space so we can camp there.

"It's just so lovely there are nice people out there who are really caring."

They are planning to dress as Robin Hood and Maid Marion, and have asked all the guests to be in costume as well, and have booked archers, a re-enactment company, tee-pees, entertainment for children, and a hog roast.

Caz and Martin, both 46, have been touched by the offers of help which came after the story of the cancellation and their need to find an alternative venue for the medieval weekend they planned following their register officer ceremony in Hastings on July 4.

Martin commented: "I am amazed there are people out there who are willing to help."
