OBSERVER AND GAZETTE BUSINESS AWARDS: Council supports young achiever

Keen to back local businesses, the council has chosen to sponsor the Young Achiever award.

The award recognises those under 28 who have reached for the stars – whether they are an employee of a local business, or an innovative entrepreneur.

Steve Oates, of the council’s economic development team, said: “Some of the greatest businesses in our district, and indeed the country, were inspired by the vision of a young entrepreneur.

“It is the commitment and achievements of our young business people that will shape our future.

“This award celebrates innovation and creativity among those who are just starting out in business, whether they are school or college leavers, young apprentices or young employees taking forward a great idea.

“This is why Chichester District Council is really proud to sponsor the Young Achiever award.”

The council wants to support businesses in the area, and of course the young entrepreneurs and employees are key to the future of the local economy.

But these young people should be rewarded for their efforts, with an Observer and Gazette business award.

Business plays a key part in the district for the council, and Mr Oates said: “Chichester District Council supports businesses large and small through its Economic Development Service.

“A key part of their work focuses on training and support to start-ups and small businesses, giving advice on planning permission, finding premises and new business contacts, accessing funding or just having someone to discuss an idea with.”
