Opening soon - and you can be up there

We are teaming up with Heritage, operators of the Spinnaker Tower, to compile the guest list for the celebratory eve-of-opening gathering at the top of the landmark.

So today we launch a search for the 100 people most deserving of a VIP invite to a never-to-be-forgotten evening.

Up for grabs are five sets of family tickets (for two adults and two children) along with 40 tickets for two.

To win a place at the Champagne and soft drinks reception, all you have to do is to fill in the form in The News today, explaining the special reason why you and a friend or you and three family members should be at the ceremony.

Competition winners will be informed of final arrangements by telephone at least two days before the party.

The contest is open to all readers of The News, and Heritage and tower owners Portsmouth City Council are particularly keen to see entries from within the city, where taxpayers have contributed to the tower's costs.
