Ageist views cut both ways

I AM WRITING to complain against the ageism of Elsie Anderson, who equally complained against that of Lauren Bravo.

As a life-long resident of Worthing (I am now 22), my youth was spent in a town where little is tailored towards the younger generations and where, save for the odd SNAP disco, we were largely ignored and unheard.

For me, Lauren has always been someone that gave the youth of this town a voice, and I look forward to reading the Herald, but especially her column, every week.

However, I was very disappointed to find such blatant ageism in the letters section.

By implying ridicule into "the hardships of student life, and now the vicissitudes of post-graduate living", you are doing the exact same thing that you were complaining about, Mrs Anderson, and I feel that this was very deliberate rather than tongue-in cheek.

Lauren clearly meant no malice, but I'm not sure the same can be said for you.

Such is this world that we must co-exist together '“ let's try to be nice about it, eh?
