I want to do what I can to help others, Chipsters!

HOW are you? Are you looking forward to your half-term holiday?
Chipper.Chipper.
Chipper.

I can’t wait – I have been trying to decide for ages what I’m going to do. I really want to go to the zoo and look at some other animals, but I need to be really good so that my parents agree to take me.

They won’t do it if I’m naughty! I also want to practise my football, as I haven’t been out playing much recently... what are you going to be doing, Chipsters?

Last weekend was interesting because I learned a lot about doing things to help other people.

On Sunday, there were two big things happening – one of them was a big race around Bognor Regis. My mum and dad took me to watch the people running and cheer them on.

It was really fun! We stood near the end and shouted ‘Well done’ and clapped our hands extra hard when the runners came past. Some of them looked quite tired, but my mum explained lots of them were doing it to raise money to help other people.

I saw people with t-shirts that had names on I didn’t know, like Chestnut Tree House or CRY. That meant they were running so people would give them money, or sponsor them, and they could pass it on to help people.

The other thing that happened was I saw men dressed in ladies’ shoes to raise money too!

As soon as I’m old enough, I’m going to start raising money to help other people. I am thinking about doing a sponsored football match to help raise money for other children who don’t have as much as I do. I think I had better get practising with my football skills though. Time to tell my mum!
