Katy Bourne’s video log: Youth Commission welcomes twenty new members

Over 40 applications were received from 14-25 year olds across Sussex who wanted to join the Youth Commission. Some of the members that have been selected attend local schools, colleges, universities and youth clubs. Others have first-hand experience of policing and crime or are interested in a career in the criminal justice sector.

Their inaugural meeting (on Saturday 31 January) saw the new members come together to discuss and agree their priorities for the year ahead, which they will then go onto explore with their peers in their local communities. In 9 months time they will report their findings and recommendations back to the Police & Crime Commissioner, which will ensure that the county’s Police & Crime Plan continues to accurately reflect local priorities.
