LETTER: I can't thank the staff enough

Thank you for printing my letter regarding my Mum's care at Victoria House Care Home, at Polegate, and for printing it in full.

Sadly, my Mum died on the 2nd March, but the care and dignity she received from everyone at Victoria House Care Home in her final days, was just amazing. I can’t thank the staff enough for the End of Life Care given to my Mum, exactly as she had wished in her End of Life Care Plan.

I do hope that the CQC Reports will not deter anyone from considering Victoria House Care Home at Polegate as a Home for their family member, or friend.

My advice for anyone considering Victoria House is to read the CQC Reports, go to the Care Home and see the Home for themselves, talk to the Manager, and the staff, and then make a decision based on what they see when they visit the Home.

I have no regrets that my Mum continued to live at Victoria House after the ‘Inadequate’ CQC Report, as I consider she received the best possible care she could have, from the moment she moved to Victoria House, until the day she died there.

Hopefully you will be able print this follow-up letter.
