A Polish life-saver with a smiling, enthusiastic mayor

THANK goodness for the Polish Cultural Day in Littlehampton earlier this month.

Frantic to entertain my Polish visitors, one of whom spoke no English, in distinctly un-beach weather, this was a lifeline.

My grand-daughter was happily involved for hours in craft activities, encouraged by tireless and cheerful helpers.

Meanwhile, her Polish grandmother and I enjoyed a lively display of country dancing.

We were all sustained by Polish delicacies and delicious, fresh-cooked traditional British scones with jam and cream.

Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard.

Incidentally, what a treasure we have in our new mayor, Alan Gammon.

He turns up smiling and enthusiastically participates in all the local activities.

Well done, Littlehampton!
