Busy end of term events for Storrington pupils
The next day pupils enjoyed a swim in the school’s pool and breakfast – a great send off for a super cohort of pupils. We wish them every success for the future!
As soon as the field was cleared of tents Friends of Storrington School (FOSS) moved in to set up for the annual summer fete. As always this was a wonderful event with lots of fun activities and stalls as well as displays on our outdoor stage. Thank you and well done to everyone involved!

Hide AdWork around our grounds has been taking place since early spring in preparation for our entry for the Storrington in Bloom competition; we were delighted to retain our Silver Gilt status for the third year! An enormous thank you to Mrs Sue Moore, our neighbour Mr White, Village Nurseries in West Chiltington and of course, all our pupils who helped plan, sow, weed and water our gardens.
Children in Years 3-5 took part in an exciting pop-up art exhibition in Petworth during July. Pupils in the after school Art Club experimented using a range of different mediums to create abstract and magical pictures following the theme of ‘The Sorcerers Apprentice’ and we were very proud of the unique and inspiring artwork they created, well done!
Storrington First School moved to its current site on the 16th July 1965 which means we celebrated our 50th birthday in Spierbridge Road: pupils who shared a birthday in July enjoyed a slice of celebration cake beautifully made by Mrs Danby. Storrington Museum will be holding a special exhibition ’50 Years On’ from 3rd October 2015.
We’d like to thank all our volunteers and businesses in the local community for your ongoing support and wish our pupils a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.
