Campaign has not helped the hall

AS long-term residents of East Preston, we would like to express our thanks for the improvements that the village hall committee has made, over many years, to the village hall complex.

The fact that so many people use the halls now, for so many different communal activities, is a fitting testament to the committee's hard work for the people who live in the village, and further afield.

We are saddened, therefore, by the action of the Village Action Group which, through its campaign, has prevented the next stage of development.

Should the question asked at the poll have been about the spending of the money, or rather: "Does East Preston need the proposed project, which would enable residents to access their parish councillors more easily, as well as giving them the opportunity to enjoy increased leisure time in the village?"
