Now headed by Jane Thomas and Brian Dallimore, the music department is looking forward to a full term of activities including a fundraising concert in Warnham Church on October 11, the school Autumn Concert on October 16, followed by the two more concerts and the usual Christmas musical offerings of Christingle, Nativity Plays and Carol Service.

Building on the success of last year, when the department was shortlisted for ‘Best Music Department’ in the MMA Awards, Jane, Brian and their dedicated team of peripatetic teachers are determined to involve as many Farlington pupils as possible in music-making activities. With five choirs, two orchestras and fourteen instrumental groups ranging from laid-back ukuleles to lively jazz, there is something for everybody, and that includes parents and staff, who have their own choir – Farlingtonic - and their own rock band - School’s Out.

Jane Thomas, Farlington’s Director of Music, says: “All are welcome to our first concert in St Margaret’s Church, Warnham, on Saturday October 11 at 7.30pm, where music will range from Bach to Bernstein; or let us help you to get into the Christmas spirit at our festive lunchtime concert in Horsham’s Unitarian Church on December 10 at 1pm. We’d love to see you there!”
