Fine turnout for Sunday's parade

I WOULD like to thank all those members of the public who braved the elements and attended our branch Remembrance parade and service. The turnout was higher than recent years.

Two additional wreaths were laid this year: Horace Biss on behalf of the Royal Marine Commandos and Alan Matthews on behalf of the Falklands Veterans' Association.

One branch member, Mr A. Peskett, travelled to the Falklands and laid a wreath on behalf of the East Preston and Kingston branch.

I would also like to remind everyone that you do not have to have served in the Armed Forces to enjoy membership of the East Preston and Kingston Royal British Legion Club. There are many activities for all ages, so why not come and see for yourself?

Peter Davis

chairman, East Preston and Kingston Royal British Legion
