Hotel delight

HOW lovely in this age of complaints about service to find something nice to write about.

Last weekend my cousins from Canada stayed at the Comfort Inn, Arundel.

When the manager, Mr Noureddine Mansour, found out that during my term of mayor of Arundel in 1997, I had opened the Inn, he immediately produced a bottle of champagne and gave me the keys to a room for me to stay the night, enabling me to spend more time with my cousins on their short stay.

The staff were also extremely helpful, allowing us to make use of the dining room when several other relations arrived to greet them.

My cousins certainly returned to Canada with a high opinion of English hotels.
