LETTER: Development that would affect us all

He approves of the Horsham Society now accepting the development north of the A264 – a complete U turn – and now Mr Nicholas wants to see a new ‘Garden City of Horsham’.

You won’t get that from Liberty who are placing a crematoria, supermarket and secondary school to take pupils from Crawley on his doorstep – all in the Strategic Gap!

He says he lives ‘alongside this development’ in Langhurstwood Road. Maybe he hopes that his new Garden City will eventually spread westwards taking in his own house and land?

He should read Michael Brookes letter ‘Wake up to the threat to Horsham’ to see the real implications of what this flawed proposal will have on the town and district. Not just north Horsham – but the whole district – including the southern wards where Cllrs Dawe and Vickers may think their residents will be comparatively unaffected. We are all going to be affected adversely by the impact on infrastructure.

Mr Nicholas states in a totally defeatist way that ‘the battle has now been lost’. That is just what Liberty and the Cllr Dawes and Vickers of this world want us – the little people - to say. The battle has not been lost. We have a newly elected council and of whom 15 are brand new. It is in their gift to change this flawed plan.

I hope the ever increasing number of residents expressing their disgust at the way the cabinet cabal have conducted themselves in recent years over housing and development throughout the district will sign the e-petition now (savingnorthhorsham.co.uk) and encourage others to do the same.
