Letter: Scouting memories

The Acorn Scout Headquarters will be decommissioned and closed from 10pm on Thursday 28th November after the Explorer Scout meeting for rebuilding.

All members of the Group, leaders, parents, supporters and old members are invited to come to the Acorn at 9.30pm to celebrate the years we have spent in the building and the friends we made. Could all members come in uniform.

While there you will be invited to make a contribution to the Shelterbox appeal for those affected by the typhoon in the Philippines. For a number of years The Scout Association has worked with Shelterbox to help in cases of natural disaster. More details of their work will be given at the meeting or can be found on their web site.

In the meantime members will be encouraged to write a message on the wall of the hall which will be photographed as a permanent reminder of your thoughts at this time.

We would normally offer refreshments but as the building will be striped to its basic shell there will be no means.
