THE Arun Duplicate Bridge Club is the largest user of the East Preston Village Hall, paying more than £80 in hire fees for two evenings every week.

It seems unfair that we should be subsidising the parish council for its accommodation and services for which it pays only £43 per month!

Also, we typically have between 40 and 50 people attending each of our sessions, so some have to park in the road because valuable parking places are being occupied to house the council’s unsightly cabin.

I’m sure that all the other hall users will agree with me when I say the cost of maintaining the council should be spread more fairly amongst the villagers and that all hall users should pay a fair share of the upkeep of the site.
