Strange case of the disappearing seat
HOW pleased I, and some of my neighbours, were when Battle Town Council kindly agreed to provide us with a public seat on the corner of Coronation and Marley Gardens which would have been such a help whilst waiting for the bus, as well as generally being a useful resting point.
The seat was duly delivered at the end of November, unfortunately just at the start of the bad weather and we waited for it to be installed.
Hopes were high when Battle Town Council turned up to fix it, only to find that the seat had disappeared, apparently stolen!

Hide AdWhen no mention of the theft appeared on the Neighbourhood Watch email, I made enquiries, only to find that Rother had removed the seat that morning, thinking it had been abandoned!
Let us hope for improvement in local communications in the future!
