There are greener ways of reducing CO2 than solar farms

Further to the letter about solar panels.

Can I point out that it would be very useful if the public generally understands that passive carbon reduction measures (insulation etc), rather than active measures (such as photo-voltaic panels) will be much more effective at reducing energy costs for the poorest in our society.

Passive measures keep working over many years with little or no maintenance while such things as PV panels have a very limited life and are costly in carbon consumption terms to make.
