Why, oh why . . ?

WHY? The ridiculous suggestion by Arun District Council’s consultants to move the swimming centre to the middle of town would not benefit the inhabitants or visitors, but it would, no doubt, prove a source of income for any developer intent on plonking a considerable housing scheme on the prime seafront site! Is that the reason?

Why? Arun’s development control committee a few weeks ago gave its consent for the massive North Littlehampton development, which includes closing the much-used Toddington Lane level crossing. Not a word against this closure was voiced by any of the councillors, and there has been no attempt to explain why this important public facility should be closed to traffic.

Nor have we been offered a suitable alternative route between Toddington and Lyminster, and points further north. Why?

Finally, with these large housing developments in the offing, how do the authorities suggest meeting a huge demand for car parking facilities in the town centre? The main car parks are already full up.
