This year’s Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday June 24, in Crawley’s Memorial Gardens.
From 10am until 1pm, guests can enjoy displays from the armed forces plus live music from singer Eve Lily Ozmen, Crawley Millennium Concert Band and Jazz Sax Band.
There will also be an arts and crafts workshop and soldier for the day activities with 103 Battalion REME.
Councillor Michael Jones, cabinet member for Community Engagement, said: “Crawley is proud to mark this national celebration of the contribution made to our country by the Armed Forces.
“I encourage members of our local community to join us in the Memorial Gardens to show their support and enjoy the morning’s entertainment.”
Armed Forces Day raises public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
It also gives the nation an opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets.
Councillor Peter Lamb, leader of Crawley Borough Council, said: “From the Community Covenant with the Armed Forces to the Veterans Guaranteed Interview Scheme, we’re a council which believes in doing everything we can to support current and former members of the forces.
“I know many members of the public will want to join with us in showing their respect this Armed Forces Day.”
