Peasmarsh

PRE-SCHOOL OPEN DAYS: Peasmarsh Flying Start Pre School will be having two open days - Thursday October 23 and Friday October 24, 9.30-11.00am. If you are looking for a great place to send your small people I can thoroughly recommend it from personal experience as my granddaughter went there and loved it! All the staff are dedicated professionals who have the happiness and welfare of your child at heart, I can’t think of a better place for any child to start their school experience.

FILM NIGHT: The film night at Peasmarsh Memorial Hall on Saturday October 11 was a great success with more than 40 people buying tickets to see Philomena starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. It was very encouraging to see so many people wanting to come to what is a new venture in the Memorial Hall; hopefully a film night can become a bi-monthly event that will be run from September to April in the months when a quiz is not taking place at the hall. It is hoped to arrange another film night on Saturday November 29 at 7:30pm and the details of the film to be shown will be announced in the November addition of the Peasmarsh Periodical and also the Village Voice. An interest was also expressed in the possibility of forming a film club and more information about this will become available when all of the details of how this should be set up and operated have been worked out. Thanks to all those that came and took the time to fill out the questionnaire - hope you enjoyed the film and the evening and of course that you will come again.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL: Time is running out for this year’s Shoebox Appeal by the charity Link to Hope - if you can fill a shoebox with things such as soap, shampoo, combs, socks, crayons, colouring books etc. your gift would bring such happiness to some poor families in Romania, Moldova, Albania,Bulgaria and the Ukraine. To support this appeal please contact Sue Cavilla on 230431 - you can also contact Sue to arrange collection if required; shoeboxes need to be ready by Sunday October 26.

PEASMARSH CHRISTMAS SANTA: A reminder about this year’s Peasmarsh Santa - If you would like your child or children to receive a door knock and gift from Santa and his elves this year please wrap a small present with your child’s name on and deliver it to Kelly Cosens at 14 The Old Hop Gardens with a £5.00 donation per family. This is a great idea, fun for the children plus all money raised will be going to three very deserving charities.

CHURCH SERVICES: This Sunday the 10am Holy Eucharist service will be at Peasmarsh church with the 8am service at Beckley church.
