A cracking creation to celebrate a special day

Residents and staff at a Horley care home created a tank to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Upfield, in Upfield, Horley, is home to adults who have autism and learning disabilities. Staff and residents pride themselves on being very much involved within the local community.

A spokesperson said: “The clients at Upfield wanted to do a project to celebrate VE Day and decided it would be great if they could build a tank.

“This was quite a large task as a lot of cardboard had to be sought, it took a day of planning then a few days to construct our masterpiece. Once completed we put it on the drive outside the care home where it brought a lot of attention from passers by who were very impressed and said we had done an ‘amazing job’.”
