Tristan Mason, owner of Restaurant Tristan in East Street, said the popular venue plans to reopen on July 11.

He added: “It’s been a long time coming. We have got some new ideas and a few new things we’re going to offer to our customers.

“Everyone’s super excited to get back on board.”

The hospitality industry will be allowed to reopen from July 4, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today, June 23.

Bookings are now being accepted for the town centre venue from July 11, which Tristan said is not going to rush its reopening.

He added: “I want to give it that extra week to make sure everything is going to be absolutely perfect.

“Everything’s going to just be absolutely immaculate.

“We have got a brilliant clientele base who have supported us over the years and I’m sure they can’t wait to come back.”
