“Purposeful work leads to increased self-confidence and self-esteem and so enhances mental and physical health. The bread oven will enable young people to learn new baking skills which will further promote and highlight their already considerable positive contribution to the local community.”

Ellen Tomlinson, General Manager of JubyLee Bakes said: “We are massively grateful to Assura for their vision in supporting what we are trying to achieve with our learning disabled young people. The bread oven / prover will be a huge asset in developing future skills training as well as hopefully producing something really delicious for our community to enjoy. “

Jonathan Murphy, CEO of Assura, said: “It is always inspiring to see the range of incredible local health projects which GP practices submit to this fund, and this year is no exception. As social prescribing continues to grow, it’s clear that the relationship between the work of local charities and community health has never been stronger and we’re delighted to be supporting that through our buildings.”
