Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust says that the hospital - which treats patients from Horsham and Crawley as well as those in Surrey - is now treating more Covid patients than during the first peak of the pandemic.

The hospital is calling on local nurses who have left the NHS ‘in recent years’ to join its staff bank.

Nursing and midwifery chief Jane Dickson said: “In the spring we were so fortunate that a number of people who had recently retired or were not currently working in the profession came to work shifts to help us at East Surrey Hospital.

“We’re now treating more positive patients than in the first peak and so we’d welcome similar support again.”

Registered nurses can get in touch to join the hospital’s temporary staff bank by contacting the resourcing manager on 01737 768511 x 1984.

The hospital says it also has a number of permanent role vacancies across a number of different areas and specialities. See https://surreyandsussex.nhs.uk/working-for-us/.
