The Awards recognise and reward those who give up their time, talents and skills to help and support others in their community and those who have trained, worked and put all their efforts into making real achievements.

Nominations are invited for groups and individuals across sixteen different categories representing everything from support and community groups to sports and culture. Nominees must either live, work, volunteer or study within the district or provide a service open to Crawley residents outside the immediate area.

Community Awards judge Katie Bennett presenting the Charity award to the Greenaway Foundation in 2019

In the past year the need for help and support in our community has been greater than ever. Charities and community groups were stretched more than even before as the need for their support grew. Local heroes stepped up and took on the challenge of helping residents feel less isolated and offering reassurance that people cared and were ready and willing to help.

Nominations are welcome for individuals or groups who helped the more vulnerable in our community and those who were shielding. This could have been through delivering food and medicines or by checking to make sure they had all they needed. They might have made phone calls or offered help with technology to help reduce isolation.
