Sussex–based professional home decorating company Lady Decorators is to welcome a Crawley teenager as its first apprentice.
Georgia Sibley, 18, was a student at Thomas Bennett Community College, Crawley, and had been recommended to Lady Decorators’ owner, Gill Burn.
With over 20 years’ experience in home decorating, Gill is delighted to welcome a new member to the Lady Decorators team and is thrilled to be able to offer the next generation of women the opportunity to take a different career path such as home decorating, which has commonly been known as a male dominated industry.
As well as offering a professional service and quality work to all their clients, Gill and the Lady Decorators team aim to encourage more young women to consider it as a future career.
Gill said: “Georgia has all the personal attributes that are important to us at Lady Decorators. She is neat, methodical, and polite, as well as being eager to learn the trade and develop her skill set. She will be an asset to the team.”
Georgia added: “I was so happy when I was offered an apprenticeship at Lady Decorators as they can offer me the experience and training I need to progress in this industry. It’s great to be given the opportunity to work within the home decorating industry as it’s something I’ve always been passionate about and keen to get involved with.”
