Fire breaks out on bus in Broadfield

Passengers were evacuated after a fire broke out on a double-decker bus at the weekend.

The bus was on Tollgate Hill, Broadfield, at around 1.30pm Saturday (May 18) when the small fire started.

The fire service said it was caused by a defective alternator.

All passengers were taken off the bus but no-one was hurt.

It was inspected and made safe by two fire crews from Crawley.
