Eight fire crews are still attending a blaze at a barn in Turners Hill which broke out yesterday evening (Sunday July 5).

Firefighters were called to the incident at around 9pm last night where they found a 20m by 10m barn containing 100 tonnes of hay well alight.

Initially six fire crews were called to scene including one crew from Turners Hill, two engines from Crawley, one from East Grinstead, a water carrier from Burgess Hill and a support engine from Haywards Heath.

However due to the size of the blaze another two engines, from Horley and East Grinstead, were called to help put out the flames.

Crews are still in attendance and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
