Police appeal after dog bites woman in Crawley


Police want to speak to a woman after her dog bit a runner in Crawley.

A police spokesman said the attack happened in Gossops Drive, Gossops Green.

The woman runner, 41, was bitten on her leg as she ran past two women both pushing buggies at the Medway Road junction at around 6.25pm on Friday May 22.

The spokesman said: “One of the women, who is described as white, 5’5”, about 50 years old with grey frizzy hair, had a medium sized dog on a long lead.

“As the runner went past them, the dog bit her on the leg causing a wound for which she received treatment at the Crawley walk-in centre.

“Anyone who saw what happened or may have any other information about the incident is asked to contact the police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1358 of 22/05.”
