Hanah Mecrow and her six and four-year old daughters, Wynter and Willow, will donate at least seven inches of their hair to The Little Princess Trust.

The funds raised, which at the time of writing stands at more than £700, will be divided equally in aid of SASH Charity and The Little Princess Trust.

The idea came about last year, when Wynter asked her mother Hanah if she could cut her hair for charity.

This outstanding gesture encouraged Willow to help her sister provide their locks long to charity.

The generosity of the pair inspired Hanah to create The Trio Chop, in aid of a worthy cause.

Hanah said: "She (Wynter)'s got such a sweet soul, bless her. Last year she asked if she could cut her hair but it wasn't long enough.

"I said she could, but she would have a short haircut so wait until it gets a bit longer.

"Because of Covid she can't get it cut anyway and it's gotten a lot longer.

"The only reason I'm doing it is because of those two. When Wynter said she would do it I said, OK fine.

"Willlow, the youngest, said I want to do mine, I've got too much hair too.

"I thought if those two are doing it, really I should do it. I need to take part because it's such a lovely gesture."

It costs The Little Princess Trust more than £500 to give a child or young person their own free wig.

The trio would love to raise enough money to provide at least one free wig, as well as show their gratitude to their local NHS Trust.

Hanah has set up a Virgin Money giving page to help their cause. To donate please visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=HanahMecrow&pageUrl=1
