Storrington Remembrance Parade draws crowds while care home pays its respects

The people of Storrington lined the High Street to see the Remembrance Parade pass through the village on Sunday afternoon.

Along with veterans the procession included the Combined Cadet Force, Scouts and Girlguides of all ages.

Everyone gathered at St Mary’s Church for a two-minute silence before wreaths were laid on the village’s memorial and a service was held.

At Sussexdown care home in Storrington residents wore their medals throughout the day and a wreath was laid in the grounds.

A concert was held during the afternoon at the home, which was formerly owned by the Royal Air Force Association.
