The donation, which will go to the Royal British Legion Sussex County Appeal, recognises the enduring support of Sussex Freemasons and Lodges throughout East and West Sussex for those who have served our country in conflicts far and wide.

Michael Harris, Chairman of the Sussex Masonic Charitable Foundation CIO, presenting the donation, said: “At this poignant time when the nation remembers the service and sacrifice of our military personnel and their families, Sussex Freemasons along with their families are proud to stand with the Royal British Legion and the amazing work performed by them in their role supporting the veterans and wider service community within Sussex”

Ray Collins, the Remembrance Lead for the Royal British Legion in Sussex, said: “We are so grateful to Sussex Freemasons for this fantastic donation to the work of the Legion in Sussex. Like so many things this year, the Poppy Appeal has to adapt to the threat of Covid-19 and we are asking the public to support us like never before, because every poppy counts”.
