Woodlands Meed College students celebrate excellent exam results

Tom Brown, assistant head, said: “It was a delight to see so many of our college students rewarded for their hard work and commitment.

“The added challenges of continuing learning online did not stop our students achieving their brilliant results.”

Some notable results were 92 per cent of all Year 11 Students achieved an AQA maths qualification, 75 per cent achieved a humanities and a science qualification and 58 per cent achieved an IT qualification.

Meanwhile, 100 per cent of the Entry Level 1 Personal Progress students achieved a certificate and 67 per cent of the generic Key Stage 5 students left Woodlands Meed with a functional skills maths, English and BTEC work skills qualification.

Student Alice Wheeler was delighted to achieve her first ever qualification certificate for all her hard work over the last two years.

She said she felt proud of achieving her qualification and enjoyed celebrating the exam results with her family.

Woodlands Meed is a maintained special school. 

The school and college aim to meet the needs of all pupils in the local area who require a special school placement and make provisions for a wide range of complex learning difficulties and disabilities.
